The East Greenwich Township Police Department
Traffic Control Unit consists of two officers
-- Ptl. William Crothers, and Ptl. Dave Forand.
The Traffic Unit is responsible for investigating
serious and fatal motor vehicle crashes, as well
as traffic enforcement. |
The
Traffic Unit is responsible for inventory and sales of vehicles impounded for
crimes and traffic violations. The Traffic Unit writes grants to receive state
and federal funding for traffic enforcement, such as seatbelt patrols, and drinking
and driving patrols.
East Greenwich Traffic Officers also review all traffic
crash reports completed by department officers before being released to the public.
Traffic Officers supervise the deployment of the department's "Speed Trailer,"
which is used to deter motorists from exceeding the posted speed limits within
the Township.
The Traffic Unit offers child seat safety inspection for
East Greenwich Township residents. These inspections are available by appointment
only, and can be arranged by calling (856) 423-4322.
